Byron Bay, a whale of a time

July 2nd, 2012

A recent 4 day trip to lovely Byron Bay. Unfortunately no surf, but it was in the middle of whale season, as they all head north to Hervey Bay in Queensland…

I was also lucky enough to catch some dolphins in the water, they actually were very close I just happened to have the wide angle lens on at the time, shame the visibility was so poor otherwise I’d have some even better stories to tell

  • broken head beach looking towards light house
  • sunset very long exposure using 10 stopper grad filter

  • byron night lights shop
  • broken head beach
  • swimming in the water with dolphins
  • byron bay flat as a pancake
  • byron bay flying tours
  • the light house from watego's beach
  • breach
  • humpback breaches in front of byron bay light house
  • humpback so close
  • humpback whales causing a huge splash

  • whale tail
  • local bird sitting on Julian rocks

These are incredibly beautiful photo’s of Byron.

It’s one of my favourite places on earth, but it has changed so massively in the last 10 years.

The photos you have posted have made me want to visit again.

    Wonderful.
